The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry's new public service announcement (PSA) campaign is getting the word out that dental care is an essential part of overall health.
The importance of children's oral health is the initial theme for the campaign, as dental cavities are the leading chronic disease among children in California, according to the university. Posters have been installed across San Francisco's Muni and San Mateo County's SamTrans public transit systems to run over the summer.
The advertising space was provided at no cost, thanks to the agencies' pro bono PSA program for nonprofit organizations. The university said it's also working on additional messaging opportunities to appear online and via local TV and other media outlets this fall.
