A dentist was arrested on 39 invasion of privacy charges for allegedly planting a surveillance camera in a staff-only bathroom at his dental practice in West Virginia, according to multiple news reports published on August 12.

Dr. Jeremy Michael Crow, 45, of Crow Dental Associates in Weirton, WV, was arrested on August 12 after he turned himself in to the police. The Washington, PA, resident was released from custody on a $20,000 bond following his arraignment. If convicted, Crow faces up to one year in jail plus a fine of $5,000 for each criminal count, according to news reports.

In May, an employee contacted police after reportedly discovering a hidden surveillance camera placed inside a water bottle in a bathroom at the practice, which is only used by staff. Further investigation revealed that at least 10 female employees reported seeing the same water bottle device in the staff bathroom, according to reports. However, police confirmed that they have uncovered no evidence that would indicate secret cameras were placed in the bathroom used by patients, according to news stories.

Crow has provided dental care to patients at the practice for more than a dozen years. Since his arrest, the practice's website and Facebook page have been taken offline.
