A group of dental organizations is urging Congress to include COVID-19 relief to dental practices in its next legislation package.
The ADA, the Organized Dentistry Coalition, and state dental associations sent letters on July 10 and July 17 to the U.S. House and Senate, asking them to consider the following actions in the next COVID-19 relief bill:
- Provide tax credits to small businesses to purchase personal protective equipment and office safety upgrades
- Increase federal medical assistance
- Provide temporary liability protection for small businesses that follow health guidelines during the pandemic
- Offer more flexibility in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
- Allow 501(c)(6) organizations to apply for PPP loans
