Police arrested two women and a man for conspiring to practice dentistry without a license near Bakersfield, CA, according to KERO radio.
Investigators found unsanitized equipment and x-ray "material" kept in a coffee cup at the Earlimart clinic, the station reported.
The makeshift office was operated out of space converted in a home and included three dental chairs and an x-ray unit, according to the report.
When they burst into the clinic's waiting room, police found 20 patients, most of whom were Mexican immigrants and many carried cash to pay for treatments that could run as high $1,500, according to the station. Police seized a gun and controlled substances.
