Delta Dental of Michigan transfers jobs to cut costs

Delta Dental of Michigan is cutting costs by moving 93 jobs from a customer service call center in Alaiedon Township to Farmington Hills, according to a news story in the Lansing State Journal.

The employees won't be laid off but will have to make the drive to Farmington Hills to keep their jobs, company spokesman Ari Adler told the paper.

Delta Dental expects to save $1.2 million by making this move, the story noted.

"If we can save over a million dollars a year and keep all of those jobs in Michigan -- that's what we're going to do," Adler told the Journal.
