Florida A&M may ask for dental school

Florida could get a third dental school, if a planned feasibility study at Florida A&M University pans out, according to Tallahassee.com.

The Web site reported that the university's trustees will decide Wednesday whether to ask the state for $1.5 million to fund a study.

The new College of Dental Medicine would be intended to serve the state's "underserved rural and inner-city residents,” according to documents quoted by the Web site.

The two existing dental schools are at Nova Southeastern University and the University of Florida.
