Bag of teeth leads to burglary suspect's arrest

Police have arrested a man suspected in over three dozen dental and medical office burglaries in the Seattle area, according to a news story in The Seattle Times.

Shane L. Carlson, 26, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, was arrested in Oregon, according to the story.

Police say the burglaries began in May and Carlson was named a suspect in November. He is accused of a series of burglaries in North and West Seattle, Bothell, Shoreline, and Bellevue, the story concluded.

A bag of teeth is what connected Carlson to the crimes, the Times reported in an earlier story. His fingerprints were identified on teeth in the bag, which was found in a Seattle neighborhood in October.

Prosecutors allege that Carlson was removing gold fillings from the teeth and selling them, along with stolen raw gold used to make fillings, to buy drugs.
