A meteorite crashed through the ceiling of a Virginia dentist office this week, according to a report by WBAL-TV of Baltimore.
A Washington, DC, TV station reported that the object plummeted through the roof of the Williamsburg Square Family Practice Office in Lorton, VA, during the evening of January 18.
The meteor was seen by residents in several states, according to news reports, and a worker at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History confirmed that it was a small meteorite.
No injuries were reported.
