A U.K. judge has ruled in favor of a dental receptionist who accused her employers of firing her because of her sex and her pregnancy, the Birmingham Post reported.
Saba Saeed of Great Barr, Birmingham, was dismissed days after announcing her pregnancy to her employers, Farshid Shoja and Shoja-Assadi of Broadway Dental Practice, according to the story.
Dr. Shoja countered that Saeed spoke rudely and inappropriately to colleagues and made personal calls during work hours, the Post reported.
Judge Tom Roper awarded Saeed 3,041 pounds ($4,546), which included a 25% penalty, according to the story.
