Biolase makes interim CEO permanent

The Biolase Technology board of directors has appointed Federico Pignatelli as the company's permanent CEO. Previously, Pignatelli was the interim CEO of Biolase.

As CEO, Pignatelli has agreed to continue an annual salary compensation of $1.00, the company said.

Pignatelli is also chairman of the board of Biolase, and over the past 16 years he has also served as executive chairman, interim CEO, and president.

In related news, Biolase said it has commenced an official search for a new chief financial officer/chief operating officer (CFO/COO). Former CFO Brett Scott resigned in July.
