Henry Schein to help Japan earthquake victims

Henry Schein has established the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund in response to the tragic earthquake and tsunami that hit Northern Japan on March 11.

The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, established through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, provides a way for Team Schein Members and others who are interested in providing support to contribute. Henry Schein will match all donations contributed to this fund by Team Schein Members, and the proceeds will be applied directly and completely to relief efforts, the company said.

"Along with the rest of the world, we are deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and hope for a good outcome for the missing people and those dislocated by this terrible tragedy, " said Stanley Bergman, chairman and CEO of Henry Schein, in a press release. "In addition to our efforts through the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, Henry Schein Cares is working closely with our partner nongovernment organizations to seek opportunities to support humanitarian relief efforts."

In the past, Henry Schein Cares has responded to other disasters including the recent earthquake in New Zealand and flood in Australia; the earthquakes in Haiti, China, Chile in 2010; the flood in Pakistan in 2010; the cyclone in Myanmar and earthquake in China in 2008; Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the U.S. Gulf Coast; the 2004 Asian tsunami; the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan; the conflict in Israel, Lebanon, and Palestine; and September 11.
