Henry Schein donates over $375K for int'l disaster relief

Henry Schein and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation have contributed more than $375,000 in financial and product donations to help provide healthcare to those who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, flooding in Australia, the earthquake in New Zealand, and tornadoes in the U.S.

The Henry Schein Tornadoes Relief Fund, first established in response to the U.S. tornadoes that struck the South in April, remains open to provide continued support to other regions of the country subsequently struck by tornadoes.

The financial donations were made through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that works to foster, support, and promote dental, medical, and animal health by helping to increase access to care for communities around the world. In addition, financial donations were made directly through Henry Schein Halas and Provet, Henry Schein's dental and animal health businesses in Australia, as well as Henry Schein Shalfoon, Henry Schein's dental business in New Zealand.

Recipients of Henry Schein Cares Foundation support for Japan included the American Dental Association Japan Relief Fund, the Japan Dental Trade Association, the American Veterinary Medical Foundation Northeastern Japan Earthquake Animal Relief and Recovery Fund, and Noah's Wish Saving Animals in Disaster.

In Australia, the recipients included the Australian Veterinary Association Benevolent Fund and the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

In New Zealand, recipients included the New Zealand Veterinary Association and the New Zealand Dental Association.

In the U.S., recipients included the Alabama Dental Association, the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, the Missouri Dental Association Foundation's Joplin Tornado Disaster Fund, and the Missouri State Medical Association Health Education Foundation's Joplin Relief Fund.
