Delta Dental of Minn. CEO to retire

David B. Morse, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Minnesota since 2009, has announced that he will retire at the end of the year.

Morse has worked for the company for more than 30 years. He joined Delta Dental of Minnesota as general counsel in 1998. During the previous 16 years, he had served as the company's external legal counsel. Morse will continue as a member of Delta's board of directors and in a consulting role to aid in the leadership transition.

During his tenure as counsel and president, Delta Dental of Minnesota has grown from a less than $50 million business to a more than $1 billion one, and has gained the status of third-largest plan in the Delta Dental system.

The board of directors has appointed longtime director Rodney Young to succeed Morse as president and CEO, effective January 1, 2012.
