Va. dentist unnecessarily extracts 8 teeth

A man who went to a Chesapeake, VA, dentist to have a crown replaced has filed a lawsuit claiming the dentist instead unnecessarily extracted eight teeth.

Kwanza Al-Amin, 66, of Edgewood, MD, is suing Glennetta White, DDS, and Spa Dentistry for negligence, claiming Dr. White told him that he needed to have eight teeth pulled and a root canal, according to a story in the Virginian-Pilot.

And after the teeth were extracted, Dr. White was unable to fit Al-Amin with dentures, the lawsuit said.

Al-Amin said another dentist who looked at the extracted teeth determined they just had a little plaque, the story said.
