Pa. 3rd-grader wins dental poster contest

A third-grade student at Dallastown Elementary in York County, PA, will receive a $500 prize for winning the Pennsylvania Dental Association's (PDA) 2012 National Children's Dental Health Month statewide poster contest.

Camryn Eveler's winning poster, "Rock Your Healthy Smile, America," depicts a young girl playing a toothbrush shaped guitar on a stage in front of an American flag.

The poster will be reproduced as bookmarks, which will be distributed to all of Pennsylvania's public libraries, the organization said in a press release. The student's teacher will receive a $250 check for participating in PDA's contest; the second and third place submissions will receive $250 and $100 checks, respectively.

The PDA estimates that 20,000 third-grade students across Pennsylvania participated in this year's poster contest.
