Henry Schein has created a platform to help 800 of its sales representatives present product-related literature and information on the Apple iPad.
The company's marketing staff created the platform using FileMaker Pro 12. It runs on FileMaker Go for iPad, a free app in the iTunes App Store.
With it, the staff can do the following:
- Search through thumbnails of literature.
- Pull up pertinent brochures or other materials.
- Order a PDF or print version and deliver personalized, "just-in-time" sales materials to customers.
On the back end, FileMaker Server 12 tracks quantities of sales materials to see exactly what needs to be printed, eliminating overstocked, never-used brochures, the company noted in a press release.
