Danaher Q3 revenues jump 5.5%

Danaher had good news for investors in its third-quarter 2013 report: a 5.5% revenue increase over the same quarter last year.

Revenues increased 5.5% to $4.7 billion for the quarter (end-September 27), compared with revenues of $4.4 billion a year ago. Net earnings were $597.0 million, a 9.0% increase compared with a net profit of $548.7 million in the third quarter of 2012.

H. Lawrence Culp Jr., Danaher president and CEO, attributed the positive figures to the company's productivity and efficiency initiatives, as well as its optimism on the acquisition front. The company's dental group includes Dexis, Gendex, Imaging Sciences International, KaVo, Kerr, Ormco, Pelton & Crane, and Soredex.
