A Wilmington, NC, dentist who regularly travels to the Ukraine to provide care at five orphanages is concerned his planned summer trip may be in jeopardy.
Dr. Gerald Rich III works in the Crimean region with the International Orphan Resource Center organization, according to a WECT story. During his four trips, he has treated more than 100 orphans, pulled 24 teeth, and filled 75 cavities.
Dr. Rich said he receives as much as he gives during his trips to the Crimea.
"The entire experience is so rewarding. You gain so much more than you give and it's so rewarding to see the reaction from the children," he said.
