Liberty Dental Plan of Nevada and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Dental Medicine have announced plans to launch a children's dental prevention clinic in early 2021, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal article.
The Clark County clinic is scheduled to open on January 4 and will provide free services to in-need, school-aged children. It will offer bitewing radiographs, fluoride varnish, sealants, and other services typically offered at school campuses, which have not been operating at full capacity because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The existing pediatric dental facilities at UNLV will host the new clinic, while Liberty Dental said it will provide more than $250,000 in first-year funding. Liberty Dental also administers Medicaid dental benefits in several Nevada counties, including Clark and Washoe.
